Mission
A coalition of Queer and Trans people from/living in East County San Diego connecting community members with resources and a local support network.
Our primary goals are to:

Across our respective communities in East County.
Goals
Our goals for 2023 were to identify need in the region by direct community engagement and virtual outreach and increase our visibility & membership by hosting and attending LGBTQ+ events.
Our 2024 goals are to launch these three programs to support and engage the Queer and Trans community in East County.
Our youth have come under attack and our families are being politicized.
We cannot allow school board meetings to be turned into battlegrounds by those attempting to undermine both parents' and students' rights.
Help us return the focus of these meetings back
to education, college preparedness, and our youths’ futures.
Through our Youth Services, we will provide outreach and programming
for LGBTQ+ students and youth in East County.
Partnering with local organizations, we will educate students on their rights in schools,
and bring students in East County the same resources and opportunities as students across San Diego County.
We hope to hold our first Queer & Trans Prom in the summer of 2024.

East County Queer and Trans Coalition is dedicated to documenting our community’s history,
quantifying and validating our presence. Through surveys & community dialogues, we seek to compile data
on our population’s experiences in this area to better advocate our needs to those in power.
We’re documenting all events we attend with the hopes of starting
a Queer & Trans archive for East County for future generations to learn about our experiences.
The Queer the Vote committee has voted to become an its own independent organization!
The East County Queer & Trans Coalition will continue to partner with Queer the Vote - East County to identify, enfranchise, and uplift
LGBTQ+ voters and potential candidates in East County, raise voter literacy & educate community members
on local politics, national policy, and basic civics.
